Ducati 750SS for sale
A 1977 Ducati 750SS for sale is far rarer than a Ducati 900SS for sale. Built solely for homologation purposes so Ducati could continue to race in the 750cc class, this a an extremely rare Italian classic motorcycle. Delivering pretty much the same power as the 900, there are some subtle differences in these motors around the bevel area. Ducati only built 500 of these machines between 1975 and 1978, when it was discontinued. For 1977 they only built 100 units worldwide, making it the homologation special Ducati of its era and allowing the 750 to be a very collectible Ducati that flies under the radar. Prices have increased since 2011 fiercely, as some shrewd investors have realised that this homologation special has not yet broken cover as a great Bevel Drive Ducati. A Ducati 750SS is a rare sight indeed, but a 1977 Ducati 750SS for sale is extremely rare and will only become rarer. Investment grade Ducati Bevel Drive
This investment grade Ducati Bevel Drive will deliver great fun as well as great future profits. This two owner machine was owned from new by a Ducati collector who de-registered it in 1988 with just under 16,000 kms. In 2012 the owner from new died and the machine was sold to the present owner who had it fully restored with the motor rebuilt by a very well known Ducati specialist who did an excellent job. The second owner, who was also a collector, only put a couple of hundred kms on it and it’s now available to our buyers. It is a genuine machine which has had a high quality restoration costing many tens of thousands of Euros. Wheel rims are correct, headlamp is correct, it’s running 40mm Dellortos which are over size for this machine, but were fitted as an extra by the factory when new. This gives the machine a higher ticker than the 900 but similar performance at higher revs. The inside of the petrol tank is like new and the paint and finishes are all excellent.
Provenance
The provenance of this machine is unquestionable and clearly adds value to the machine. The 16126 kms (just under 10,000 miles) certainly seem genuine and the machine stayed off the road in dry storage between 1988 and 2012. The indicators are clearly nasty aftermarket items, but we will replace these with later CEV correct items included in the sale. Shock absorbers have been replaced with high quality replica items, but just about everything else is original. This is a very high quality investment grade classic motorcycle with great provenance that will increase in value fiercely.
