Due diligence

This ’99 year model came with Showa forks (Ohlins were fitted to the 2000 model), Ohlins rear shock and Marchesini wheels, which usually suffer at this age, but these are spotless. The due diligence work we performed showed this was a beautifully preserved example that had never been ridden hard and which has very low mileage. You can see from this article I wrote about four years ago, that these motors are great for high mileages. This one has less than 12,500 miles on it and is barely run in, so plenty of life in it. It was very clear how well it has been looked after for its entire life. It is very difficult to find 996 SPSs in such good condition, as they were bought up when they became very cheap in the mid 2000s – 201, and were thrashed. They offered great value and many were destroyed or ridden in such a way that they will never be investment grade again. This example, however, has always been very well looked after by both of its owners.
