New Signature Norton Commando 961 ex-Henry Cole for sale. Brand new Norton Commando 961 owned by television and motorcycle celebrity Henry Cole of The Motorbike Show on Channel Four. This has always been a very special motorcycle for many reasons, as well as its special owner. These first 200 numbered Norton Commandos are becoming collectible motorcycles in their own right now that Norton’s future is happily resolved. Each machine was hand built, but this one was a custom build for Henry and is the only one of its kind. All other machines were black and this one was custom sprayed in a silver Manx type paint scheme later adopted by the factory. This paint scheme, and much of this motorcycle’s specification, were later used to create the Cafe Racer Commando 961 Cafe Racer. This motorcycle is pretty much a prototype for the Commando Cafe Racer. There are many other individual tweaks to this machine which make it unique and highly collectible.

Due to the recent precipitous difficulties at Norton values took a bit of a dive, as investors thought spares would no longer be available. With the company now being bought by the Indian motorcycle manufacturer TVS Motor Company the future of Norton is now very stable and spares have a guaranteed availability.
