One of the few genuine 1978 Honda CB750 Phil Read Replica, built by Honda Britain. This piece of history has gone under the radar for too long and will surely break cover very soon. Built by Honda Britain to move an over stock of Honda CB750s for Honda Europe in 1978. Each of the first 150 were hand built by Colin Seeley for Honda Britain (the then Honda UK importer) and then Phil Read became upset with Honda Britain and the other 350 were shelved and released in a different guise and with out Phil Read’s name attached.
However, this motorcycle unwittingly paved the way for the race replica and homologation specials market. It was the very first motorcycle from any Japanese motorcycle importer available with a full fairing, performance exhaust, rear sets, a solo race seat, ace bars and many other little details. It appears that only 56 of the original Honda Britain machines remain today. Honda Britain did sell the parts as a kit, but they never had the little details that the original machines came with. This machine is incredibly undervalued, but will definitely break cover in the coming years on the international stage and then prices will become unrecognisable. One of the most exciting classic motorcycle investments on the market available now.
