To find an original Manx Norton 500 for sale is extremely rare. But to find Francis Beart’s very original Manx Norton 500 Long Stroke for sale is quite remarkable. And then to find a matching numbers Manx Norton 500 for sale is almost impossible. Francis Beart was a was a legendary tuner of Manx Hortons. He also regularly campaigned them at the Isle of Man TT. Aficionados will wonder why this example is not painted in the Apple Green livery his motorcycles were famous for. Quite simply, when he bought this machine new in 1953 the hadn’t started painting his machines in Apple Green. He left it as it was, as this was his personal motorcycle and comes with proof it was sold new to Beart in 1953 from VMCC.

The motorcycle was purchased by the present owner in the late 1980s and has remained unridden since. The motor was run on Castrol R, so it will require rebuilding to facilitate cleaning. This vintage racing motorcycle is the last year of production for the 500cc long stroke Manx motors. This is probably one of the most original Manx Norton 500s around.
