The last Rudge ever built

Rudge 500 for sale, but not like any other Rudge 500 for sale. The last Rudge ever built and the only one of its type, presents a great ownership opportunity for those wanting to enjoy what could have been in 1986. The name was bought and a design was created for this fire breathing demon which was the only prototype built in the hope of resurrecting the brand for road use. Unfortunately it was not to be, but this prototype has been used in hill climbs and has performed very well.

Historic motorcycle

The second world war finished the company off, after dominating 500cc racing with a motorcycle that developed into a road going machine. The foreshadowed what was to come in 1986, with the Rudge name being resurrected. The idea was to create a 500cc racer and to evolve that machine into a road going motorcycle to revive the brand. Specification was outstanding with a fire breathing DOHC 500cc Weslake speedway engine, running on methanol, and a Quaife three speed gearbox. The frame was a creation of a British chassis guru, Tony Foale, who also built the rear mono shock and front leading link forks. Brakes are Lockheed items and everything else was hand fabricated to the highest specification.The machine runs perfectly but oil is total loss, which is simple to address as the oil catch tank is already fabricated and lives under the motor. The bike is obnoxiously loud and comes with plenty of spares including a silencer so it can be legally raced. There are emails and plenty of documentation authenticating the machine.
