With riders fighting to be on the race team between 1950 and the late 1970s, MV attracted only the best motorcycle racers in the world, boasting names such as Agostini, Mike Hailwood, Phil Read, John Surtees and many, many more. By 1974 they had won 37 world championships with an engine partially designed by Colombo, the designer of the Ferrari GTO motor. Very original MV Agusta 750 America
This is a very original MV Agusta 750 America, with the exception of the high performance Magni exhaust system, which came fitted as new by the German importer, Hansen. Although the America came with a four into four chrome exhaust system, nearly all of the machines supplied by Hansen came with this optional extra fitted as standard. The frame paint is all original, but the body work has been repainted It has only covered 17,300 kms, which is just over 10,000 miles from new and the mileage is believed to be correct. The motor has been beautifully set up and the machine is ready for delivery to its new owner and enjoyed on a favourite road. This is the first year of production for the America and these early models still held some of the curvaceous appeal of the 750 Sport, its predecessor, before being squared off much more for the 1977 model. With gear driven cam shafts this was a very expensive motorcycle at the time, available only to those with connections to the factory.
