1979 Suzuki RG500 MK4 for sale
A genuine Suzuki RG500 factory racer for sale and this one is a 1979 MK4 model ridden by Phil Henderson. These classic racing motorcycles have a long way to go, as they are seriously undervalued assets, but investors are already making moves on them. It is extremely difficult to find a genuine factory example with the magnesium carbs and all of the factory only parts present and correct, but this one is genuine. Beautifully restored and presented in Texaco colours, this machine is the same type as ridden by Barry Sheene in the 1970s. The correct colours are in the last pictures, which are Suzuki blue and white. We are happy to do the correct white/blue Suzuki paint on the entire machine from bare metal/fibreglass at an extra cost. The reason it’s been painted in Texaco Heron colours is that they are the colours mostly used to present these machines today. As there are no available records we cannot prove or claim that this machine was ridden by Phil Henderson in the iconic duel between Barry Sheene and Kenny Roberts at Silverstone in 1979, but it is clearly highly likely it was. It is a rolling piece of motorcycling history that was incredibly close in spec to Sheene’s own ride from Suzuki. The motorcycle runs and rides perfectly and is ready to parade or enjoy however you want. These are incredibly rare motorcycles and there will never be a time like this great period of motorcycling history again and this is your chance to own a piece of it. The restoration was by a known expert of these highly strung motorcycles. There can be no warranty at all offered with classic racing motorcycles due to the nature of their design.
Meticulous restoration
This motorcycle has undergone a meticulous restoration as the detailed pictures prove. Many of the unavailable parts have been sourced and restored to an excellent standard. Many impossible to find parts are all present, such as the canon silencers, original Suzuki front master cylinder, rear sets, hose clips, fairing screws, bodywork, fork yokes. It has the irreplaceable standard magnesium carburettors and the wide bell mouths, which are all incredibly rare. The correct Campagnolo wheels are in excellent condition and present, along with the floating discs and correct brake calipers. Very few restorations of these classic racing motorcycles have these parts present and they add great value.
